Enecta Bike Tour 2020: the third edition is coming!
In this edition every cyclist will receive a cannabis seed in custody!
The Enecta Bike Tour is coming back with its third edition; next July 4 and 5 the event will start off, as per tradition, from the heart of Abruzzo with a special mission. In this edition every cyclist will receive a cannabis seed in custody.
The seed must be kept as far as Castelvecchio Subequo, at the point of arrival of the second stage, where it will be ‘thrown’ in the open field. A propitiatory and symbolic gesture for the 2020 growing season.
Green Valley will be the partner of Enecta in this edition as well, in which we will visit one of the most important tourist mountain resorts of the entire Apennines: Roccaraso. During the two days we will cover almost 180 km for a total of about two thousand meters of difference in level.
The Enecta Bike Tour is not a cycling competition, but a bicycle touring stroll in practically uncontaminated places with zero traffic and offers the opportunity of a more profound knowledge of the world of cannabis, here were the company invests in cultivation projects.
Enecta Bike Tour
Friday July 3, in Piazza Croce in Castel di Ieri, on the eve of the Tour, there will be an event dedicated to the little ones, a circuit in which it is possible to pedal safely, with the participation of the schools located in the area, open to everyone.
It is nice to ride a bicycle but it is even better if we know the rules of the road, so it is also an opportunity to promote the cyclist’s best practices, parting from educating the little ones.
At the end of the event, we will remain in Castel di Ieri for a welcome dinner for both cyclists and accompanying persons.
First Stage
The Enecta Bike Tour will depart on Saturday July 4 at 10.30 a.m. from Piazza Croce in Castel di Ieri and will have its finishing stage in Roccaraso, scheduled for 5 p.m.
We will cross Sulmona, the city of Ovid, the poet of Love, born in 43 BC. C. and ride along the course
dedicated to him. We will take a photo of the ‘green caravan’ in Piazza XX Settembre, where we can find the statue dedicated to the author of ‘Amores and Ars Amandi’.

Leaving Sulmona behind, the group will head towards Cansano, a small village located inside the Majella National Park, at the gates of the Bosco di Sant’Antonio.
After a 6 km climb, this is where the group will find their first refreshment station of the day; here it will be possible to appreciate, besides the climbs, the culinary delicacies of the area.
After the refreshment, without exaggerating of course, a 15 km climb awaits us during which we will enter a magical place, formerly sacred and dedicated to Jupiter.
We are talking about the Bosco di Sant’Antonio, one of the most beautiful beech woods in Abruzzo, which extends over about 17 hectares between Monte Pizzalto and Monte Rotella.
The Piano del Bosco will be an opportunity to recompact the group, among the silent pastures, and will lead us to one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, Pescocostanzo, at an altitude of 1395 meters above sea level.
The Borgo was born on a plateau known as’ The region of the greater highlands of Abruzzo’
Once reached Pescocostanzo, there are only 5 km to go to the end of the first stage, which are enough to cross Rivisondoli and go down the descent that will lead us to Hotel Sporting in Roccaraso.

Second Stage
Sunday July 5, after breakfast at the hotel ,it will be time to leave for the second stage, departure scheduled for 10.30 am, from the square in front of the hotel.
Before leaving, however, thanks to the guys of FreeFitness we will dedicate some time to stretching and warming-up exercises, in order to face the kilometres that await us in the best of ways. The arrival in Castelvecchio Subequo is scheduled for 5 p.m.
We will leave beautiful Roccaraso behind, and will face the fatigue of the day that will present itself at the foot of the Palena station, after about ten km, when we will face the ascent of the Forchetta pass, at about 1370 meters.
The splendid scenery of the Majella Park will unfold before our eyes along a descent that will lead us straight to Campo di Giove, where the first break of the day will take place.
From Campo di Giove we will face a new climb, with gentle slopes, up to Passo San Leonardo, a pass in the Abruzzo Apennines at an altitude of 1282 meters.
At this point of the stage, nine kilometres of descent separate us from the splendid Borgo di Pacentro where we will have the second stop of the day, at the refreshment station.
Once in Pacentro, there will be exactly 25 kilometres to the Sativa Cannabis Field of Castelvecchio – point of arrival and conclusion of the second stage and of the third edition of the Tour.
We will cross Sulmona again, heading to Raiano and going up among the splendid Sagittario gorges, that will lead us to the foot of Monte Sirente.
Once arrived in Castelvecchio Subequo, the cyclists will throw the cannabis seeds in the open field. A gesture with a strong symbolic value: giving nature a seed that will give birth to other seeds, from which plants will be born, which will make dreams sprout.
